Kyle Edwards joins League One side after expiration of U’s deal - chof 360 news

KYLE Edwards has joined Sky Bet League One side Stevenage.

The 26-year-old winger saw a short-term contract with Oxford United expire at the beginning of January, although he continued to train with the club in order to maintain his fitness.

A new U’s deal was unlikely, and Edwards now links up with a Stevenage side sitting 11th in League One.

Edwards featured seven times in the Championship this season, but an ankle injury disrupted his campaign.

He initially joined United on loan from Ipswich Town in September 2023, however a hamstring injury then ruled him out for two months shortly after arriving.

A recurrence of the hamstring problem saw Edwards return to the sidelines, and he then had his Tractor Boys contract terminated by mutual consent in January last year, prior to signing a deal with the U’s until the end of last season.

Edwards continued his rehabilitation with United over the summer and then agreed a short-term deal in September.
